Places to Stay
At the hands of Lluis Domenech I Montener and Antoni Gaudi an architectural jewel was created for the Mediterranean, one which has since lured visitors from every corner of the globe.
In 1999 Barcelona was awarded the RIBA Royal Gold Medal for Architecture, the one and only time it has been awarded to a City rather than an individual architect! In our opinion, it is one of the top destinations in Europe, for corporate travel as well as major trade events. From guided tours of the Sagrada Família, a truly unique church representing Gaudi’s personal interpretation of Gothic architecture, to a night at the opera, at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, there are many things to do in this fabulous city whenever you have a couple of hours to spare.
A Cultural Treat
It is the tenth most visited city in the world and whilst it is still home to many outstanding examples of Catalan Art Nouveau architecture, it is a very modern city too, full of quality hotels and apartments. Fortunately, many of them are located within close proximity to the Fira de Barcelona, the second largest exhibition centre in Europe and the setting for many of the trade fairs to which the city is an annual host. If you are planning to attend one of the many events that are held here, we will be delighted to find suitable accommodation for yourself and your business colleagues. Barcelona hosts over fifty national and international conferences, expositions and tournaments annually so it is difficult to find somewhere decent to stay at certain times of the year. However, rest assured that our team can always find you somewhere close to the action.
The city’s international airport is just a 15-minute drive from Fira de Barcelona, making it very convenient for those who travel by air to reach the exhibition centre. Visitors from London with a little more time on their hands may like to go for the more leisurely option of travelling by train.
From St Pancras to Sants Station, which is less than 2 kilometres from the exhibition centre, is roughly a 9-hour journey, including a stop around lunchtime in Paris
Barcelona is about craftsmanship and creativity - to visit is to be inspired.
