- When travelling through many different countries, you may consider purchasing an international data SIM card. If visiting only 1 country, it may be better to get a SIM card for that country or simply rely on local WiFi networks. Whichever you choose, make sure you get the correct size for the device!
- Some good advice is to download as much as possible while connected to free WiFi. (Instapaper is a free app that saves anything for you to read anywhere, any time, and even offline.)
- Plan ahead and download maps for offline use. These help you find locations with your GPS without requiring access to a data network. Google Maps is very good but there are plenty more to choose from.
