Vince Camuto’s Southampton Home Sells For $75 Million, Highest Hamptons Price This Year

Vince Camuto is the shoe designer who founded the Nine West. Vince is off to sell his Southampton Home for a price of $75 million. This sale price, is well over the $48 million list price, and this price is claimed as the highest price of this year, and is believed to be a new record for the Hampton Homes.

Camuto has listed this property for sale, it is 10,000 Square foot Wooldon Manor, by the Corcoran Group and Sotheby’s International Realty in July. Tim Davis of the Corcoran group spoke to media and said that the price spike of this Manor is due to the incorporation of an additional property of nearly 8-acres area. The sale is predicted to end by the end of this year, but if that happens, Camuto’s real estate sale will join the list of the most expensive home purchases for the year 2013, and will be struggling to get to the number one spot with the Oaktree’s founder Howard Marks Malibu estate.

The home (not including the additional 8 acres) is situated on 5.14 acres including 472 feet of direct oceanfront property. Past owners include members of the Woolworth dynasty and Edmund C. Lynch, founding partner of Merrill Lynch.

A Sotheby’s spokesman said that a confidentiality agreement prevented him from discussing the sale; however, media outlets are reporting that an unnamed New York couple are the buyers. Camuto has listed a second property–an 11.5-bedroom, 15-bath estate on Mecox Bay in Water Mill, New York–for $49.5 million.
